ADOPTED DOGS

Pumpkin

Female, Old English Sheepdog, Adult

Location: Houston, TX

Pumpkin is a recent owner surrender because her family could no longer care for her. She is about 8 years old with no health issues. She is great with kids. She enjoys going for walks and playing fetch, but is just as content snuggling on the sofa for a movie. She was raised around other dogs, but is a little unsure of the male sheepadoodle in her foster home. This could be that she is still adjusting to all the changes.

Adopted!

Tim

Tim is a 60 lbs. 9-month-old male TXOESR pulled from the Denton, TX shelter just before New Years Eve. TXOESR had him neutered the day he was removed. Because TXOESR could not locate a foster, he was placed in a boarding facility for the next 3 days. Unfortunately, his care wasn’t the best.

This past weekend, Tim was moved to a better facility with trained dog handlers. Their feedback has given us some insight into his behaviors. He is an extremely anxious, very high energy puppy, has not had any positive training experiences and surely not given ongoing direction, correction, safety and love. He loves jumping, playing & nibbling (not biting).

The feedback from trainers has been positive as TXOESR continues to get regular feedback. The expectation for the next 4 weeks of board and train are: 2 weeks of working with onsite trainers on behaviors and socialization followed by 2 weeks training with TXOESR staff and potential foster / adopter.

This training is expensive but well worth it to rescue Tim. His future forever family will have free training for life for Tim as well as discounts on boarding Tim at their facility.

If interested please submit a foster or adoption application from our website:

Delilah

Female, Old English Sheepdog, Adult

Location: Houston, TX

Delilah is another of the 6 doodle breeder dogs. Delilah has struggled through no fault of her own to decompress and feel safe. We think partly due to availability of just the right foster home for her. She is so sweet and will make a wonderful companion. She is slowly coming out of her shell but this process will take some time. She will need a loving, quiet and very patient home to thrive. She is a beautiful girl.

Adopted

Zam

Female, Honorary OES, Young Adult

Location: Dallas, TX

We know, we know…Zam is not an OES, BUT she is 100% a good girl. Zam came from an awful situation down in McAllen, Texas. She was part of a hoarding situation and was sent to the high kill shelter, Palm Valley. We initially tagged Roxy for our rescue, but Zam was one of the last dogs. We answered the desperate call to take Zam into our rescue as an honorary sheepie because we couldn’t leave her behind. Like many dogs who come from hoarding situations, she is unfamiliar with human touch and takes a while to learn trust. However, when that trust is earned, she will follow you around and be at your side. Zam needs a special home who understands emotionally scarred animals and has the patience to let her trust on her own. She will do best in a quieter home with one or more dog companions. She has learned trust through observing other dogs.

Ava

Female, Old English Sheepdog, Adult

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Ava is one of the 6 dogs surrendered by the sheepadoodle breeder. Ava is a loving and funny girl. She is a loyal and gentle girl who is good with other dogs. She loves to play and run around, but she also loves to snuggle and receive kisses. Ava is a wonderful dog and would make a great addition to any family.

Ava is HW Positive and will need a quiet home to recover (TXOESR will pay for treatment).

Barry

Male, Old English Sheepdog, Adult

Location: Houston, TX

Poor Barry was abandoned by his family when they fled the flooding and power outages during Hurricane Beryl earlier this year. Loyal as ever, Barry weathered the hurricane under his porch where he waited for his family to return. After a few days, his family never came back for him. He walked right up to his foster mom as if he was begging for help. Barry loves the water and the other dog in his home. We are currently medically assessing him. He will be ready to adopt in the next few weeks. We think Barry is between the ages of 4 and 6.

Reggie

Male, Old English Sheepdog, Adult

Location: Mckinney, TX

Reggie came into our rescue due to no fault of his own. Reggie was very loved in his home, but his owner needed full time care and was moved into a facility. Unfortunately, the dogs in his next home did not take too kindly to strangers. Reggie is great with children and dogs. He would love a home who could shower him with the love he had. He is a young six year old with tons of energy. He loves to play and enjoys his nightly walks. Reggie would make a great family companion and looks forward to being back in a home who can give him the affection he deserves.

Squirrelly Pete

Male, Old English Sheepdog, Young Adult

Location: Dallas, TX

Pete was found as a stray in the woods near River Legacy in Arlington, Texas where he was picked up by the local animal control. Pete is a young boy between the ages of 1 and 2. We know he is young because he still has so much pink on his nose! Pete was incredibly matted and was shaved under anesthesia during his neuter, so please excuse his haircut. We have no doubt he will grow into a beautiful coat. Based on how matted he was, we suspect he was on his own for quite some time. Pete is a clown who loves to play with his foster brother. He does well with other dogs and people. Pete will do best in many homes, but he needs someone who will invest in continued training to work on his recall and provide daily structured play.

Izzy

Female, Old English Sheepdog, Senior

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Izzy is our golden girl. She is 10 years young. Unfortunately, her military momma had to move overseas over the summer, and Izzy was not able to move with her. Izzy is a perfect girl but has some typical senior dog challenges. She is potty trained but has some slight fecal incontinence if not let outside frequently. She never pees in the house. She also has osteoarthritis and is doing well with a monthly dose of Librela. Izzy loves dogs, humans, and other small critters. She would make a perfect companion for someone who wants an easy-going senior girl.

Adopted

Betty White

Female, Old English Sheepdog, Young Adult

Location: Austin, TX

Betty White is about 3 years old and found herself in a high kill shelter in Weslaco, TX. Betty is a lover of people and dogs. She is deaf and needs someone who can learn to communicate with her as she learns manners. She is doing very well in her current foster home and has learned house manners easily. We have no doubt with a patient person she will do well. Due to the nature of her special needs, we are seeking a home with older children or an adult only home.

Adopted!

GOOSE

Goose is an adorable 11-month-old puppy full of “puppy energy and love”. His original owner surrendered him due to her unstable living conditions. Goose has been in a TXOESR foster home for about a week and the foster has learned a lot. He is a snuggler, playful, energetic, and loves people & dogs. Goose may be a little too much for young children or small dogs due to his energy. He definitely needs guidance, boundaries, and lots of exercise. TXOESR suspects he had very little, if any of these needs met. TXOESR initially thought Goose had a UTI because of excessive wetting, but the foster has been limiting his water intake and walking for potty more frequently. He is not totally housebroken but is learning fast. The foster has also been working with Goose on crate training as well as other normal dog / puppy training.

Goose is current on vaccines, microchipped, and groomed but will need to be neutered in the near future. TXOESR will make sure those expenses are covered.

Goose is currently in a foster home located in Dallas, TX.

Adopted

LULU

Meet Lulu… This sweet little girl is ready for adoption!!

Lulu was found abandoned. She was tied to a stop sign at the corner of an intersection and left to fend for herself. TXOESR was able to rescue this sweet little OES and she was placed in one of our loving foster homes in Denton, TX.

Lulu is approximately 14 months old, current on vaccines, house broken, great with kids and larger dogs – not friendly with smaller dogs or cats – loves walking on leash and car rides. TXOESR will cover approved vet expenses for spay and microchip. She is smaller in stature and weighs 45 lbs.

Lulu is a super-smart pup. Knows her basic commands, leash walks are great even with distractions (cars, kids, dogs, etc.), meets and greets people well. She has an infectious personality – silly, sweet, and affectionate.

If you would love to add Lulu to your family, please contact Texas OES Rescue.

Adopted!

Meet Savannah !!

Near Tyler, TX.

Savannah is sweetheart who is 5 years old and is being surrendered by her breeder. Savannah lived in a kennel outside where she spent most her time while being with another older female OES who was housed inside. Savannah has been around children and is good with kids. And she is used to being part of a family and is super agreeable and sweet with everyone.

Savanah has no health issues. It will be necessary to spay Savannah (since she was used in breeding OES pups) and TXOESR will be covering the spay expenses.

Savannah continues to come out of her shell and is getting more outgoing. She spent her life outside but now has adapted well to becoming house trained and comfortable with the good life inside. She is still a little skittish and nervous with strangers at first but once she warms up, she loves to cuddle and will sandwich herself in between you to sit with you - a total space invader. Savannah has learned to love and become a dog. She gets along well with other dogs but is still learning how to play because she never had the life of a puppy.  She is a wonderfully sweet and kind girl who deserves to be someone’s whole world. She’s an absolute sweetheart who loves to give kisses. She’s the perfect and most deserving little lady.

Comments from her breeder:

I think it would be nice if she was a one owner family so she can get all of the attention. She is as sweet as they come, and she is very well-behaved. She likes other dogs and is not dominant. She's never had leash walks. She has had room to run around - loves space. She goes in and out of a doggie door from kennel in order to potty. I think she would adapt easily to becoming a house dog.

ADOPTED!

Re-introducing…   Dooley

This little guy is still searching for his forever home – God love him! And TXOESR wants to make sure his next loving home is his last!

After 1 week, Dooley’s initial owners found they did not have time to train or care for him. He was then surrendered to TXOESR in April 2023 at 4 months old. He received a lot of interest and was immediately adopted. But being an active puppy, Dooley was too much to handle for his TXOESR adopters.  Since May, Dooley has been in two caring foster homes. His current and longest foster family is expecting a baby soon – which would not be a good environment for all involved. All the movement and change are not the best situation for a puppy needing stability, direction, security, quiet, and love.

So, Dooley is a 10-month-old male OES. He is microchipped, vaccinated, and groomed. He is too young to neuter – but TXOESR will make sure at the proper age – we will cover veterinary expenses for neuter.

He has been in homes with multiple dogs. He loves going to the dog park. And he appears to get along with other dogs. We are looking for adopters who have OES experience and puppy development skills to train Dooley with positive reinforcement techniques. Our recommendation is no other dogs. No children. And a long-term commitment to this little fellow. He needs to feel safe & secure – so chaos in the environment would not be a good thing.

TXOESR wants this puppy and his adoptive family to have a long, happy, and loving life together!

If you are interested in adopting Dooley – and your family seems to match his needs - please complete an Adoption Application.

Ozzy is current on vaccines, microchipped, crate and house trained.  He has fully recovered from Parvo treatments given in November and has a clean bill of health from his vet.

TXOESR will cover neutering expenses at the appropriate age.

ADOPTED

Meet Phoebe!!

Phoebe came into Texas OES Rescue on August 2, 2023. And is currently available for adoption.

She was originally surrendered by her family because they had to relocate and could not take her with them.

Phoebe is a wonderfully sweet female OES - 2-3 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and house trained. Phoebe is good with kids, dogs and cats. She is very playful and loves to fetch and catch. She has so much love to give and is looking for her forever family.

ADOPTED

My name is Pippa.

Pippa is a 3 year old female who joined TXOESR 3 months ago. Pippa is with her Foster family and has been going through heart-worm treatments as well. Her hips are also somewhat unstable and she will be going though hip surgery in the coming weeks to be followed by some recovery time. You just have to love that smile!

Winslow

WINSLOW: 12 years old. People surrendering him because Fiance doesn't like him. Plus, they had a baby and the dog is nervous. Gets around well. Needs a home that will love him the rest of his life. Gets along with other dogs. Located near Denver, CO (no picture at the moment)

Molly

This is Molly! She is about 5 years old and was surrendered because she "attacked a little dog". She was in the Weatherford shelter and was completely covered in mats and urine soaked. She is a bit overweight but she has begun a weight loss program for the new year~

Molly gets along just fine with the other dogs in the house. She has really bonded with her cool foster brother, OES. Molly would be good with someone who either works from home or is retired. She is a great girl and is starting to relax and not worry if she goes outside, she can come back in. She is a sweetheart.

If you are interested in her and have an approved adoption application (on file), please email us at txoesr@gmail.com. If you do not have an approved adoption application (on file), please start the process by completing one!

Hi I am Toby.

And guess who is ready for adoption!! Toby!!! Toby is a 3 ½ year old boy who joined TXOESR over 5 months ago. If you remember, TXOESR became aware of Toby’s situation via Facebook members pleas to Help Rescue this pup. Toby was held in a rescue facility in deplorable conditions with likelihood of euthanasia. We forcefully (with aid of Toby’s family) pulled him from the situation with the owner’s consent and surrender. Pictures below show the condition of his habitat and how matted and afraid he was. TXOESR found a behaviorist / trainer to work with him over the summer – supported with the donations from TXOESR Members, TXOESR Donors and Facebook Donors.

Toby needs a strong leader to continue the progress made with him by trainers. Preferably male and very experienced with working with herding breeds and can give him regular exercise.

Hi I am Bear

BEAR: Is almost 3 years old and is a big lover. In fact, he was surrendered because he was too "needy" and "gives too many kisses". Bear is a sweetheart! He loves to play and either needs another dog who wants to play as much as he does, or he would be happy to be the center of attention as an only dog. He is a squirrel hunter... so, his prey drive is such that he would not be good in a home with a cat. Located in DFW

ADOPTED!

Wookie

He does well with other dogs his size; however, would be best in a home with older children.
